Where to Shop

It’s one thing to cite the internet as the place to find all your vegan supplies.  But in reality, this is far from ideal.  Forget for a moment that you have to pay shipping and handling charges for online purchases.  But shopping online also deprives you of that wonderful sense of instant gratification. Yes. I am a consumer whore.

I write this blog, in part, so that newbie vegans in Southern Oregon know they have local resources.  And that there are vegans in the area that aren’t hemp-wearing hippies.  Not that I have anything against hippies. So in that vein I thought it was about time that I add a shopping section to this site.

Sherm’s Food-4-Less

Medford, OR 97504

Food-4-Less is where I do nearly ALL my shopping. It’s conveniently located smack in the center of Medford. So, for those of us in the nearby communities it is much easier to get to than the Ashland Co-Op.

Food-4-Less has a huge selection of all kinds of food.  But straight past the extensive produce and bulk goods is a really impressive natural foods department chocked full of such goodies as Sweet & Sara Marshmallows, Gluten free vegan donuts & the holy grail of replacement foods: Daiya Cheese.

You can get virtually everything you need at Food-4-Less.  You’d be hard pressed to do quite so well at one of those Whole Foods stores. And best of all, they are open 24/7.

Butte Creek Mill
402 Royal Ave.
Eagle Point, OR 97524
Phone (541) 826-3531
the Butte Creek Mill is a historic old grain mill that is still in use today. They carry a wide array of stone ground grains. But what always brings me back is their bulk spices.
They sell spices by the ounce at insanely affordable prices.  I refuse to buy my spices anywhere else, if I can help it.

Even the cheap bulk spices in the Mexican food section of most grocery stores can’t compare in price or variety.
